Whether you’re hiking in the hills, kayaking on the lake, cooking over an open campfire, or painting watercolors on the shore, we’re here to help you savor the moments you spend outdoors with your family and friends.
Bring city pleasures and little luxuries on each outdoor excursion. There’s no reason to sacrifice comfort and flavor when you’re relaxing by the campfire.

Relish the meandering trails, expansive lakes, and majestic views that make each trip unique. Join us on our favorite hiking and waterway excursions.

Make each meal, snack, or dessert worth the calories. There’s no need to eat hot dogs and baked beans if what you really want is a gourmet steak.

Learn to take great photos, sketch in your nature journal on the trail, or paint your favorite memories when you get home. We’re all artists yearning to play.

Jerry loves to start the day at sunrise, lead long hikes in the early afternoon, steer the canoe or kayak into every inlet, cook delicious meals, and entertain guests, while Suzannah loves to take photos along the trails, enjoy the views, read a good book, watch sunsets, and create nature paintings from the experiences. Together, we spend our free time exploring the culinary flavors of Fort Worth and taking outdoor excursions around Texas. While we enjoy tent camping, we’re too old to be sleeping on the floor of the tent and cooking food we wouldn’t eat at home. So we aim to bring all the things we love about city life to the campsite. It’s the little things that make the trips special, and we want to share those things with you.

We’ll help you pick the best gear based on practical use. You’ll also learn how to pack everything you need as efficiently as possible, make meal prep an art so that you can enjoy fabulous meals, build a fire that will withstand a light rain, and so much more.
We’ll be posting soon about our adventures at Caddo Lake State Park. We enjoyed canoeing among the Cypress trees, encountered mosquitos that bit us through our clothes, and were surprised by the loudest animals in the middle of the night that we’ve ever heard. We’re gearing up to tell you all about it. In the meantime, see the Texas Parks and Wildlife website for more information about the beautiful and unique landscape.
