Hiking Daingerfield State Park

We hiked these trails in May after the area had received plenty of rain. The slime molds, mushrooms, shelf fungi, and lichens brightened the trails at every turn with brilliant whites, yellows, oranges, and reds. Plus, the water lily–covered lake, waterfalls and streams, blue, pink, and purple flowers, dragonflies, caterpillars, and termite mounds were extraordinary.
