4 out of 5 stars — Enjoyable park, even in the winter. This site is located right off the Blue Waterfront Trail, but it’s small with unlevel ground and little shade.

Site notes:

  • Site 5 is unlevel and rocky with no great place for the tent. It would be difficult to find comfortable spots for multiple tents at this site.
  • There’s no grill for the fire ring. It wasn’t an issue for us because we cooked chili with a tripod over the fire, but if you’re planning to cook on the grill, you’ll need to bring charcoal for the standing grill instead.
  • A potable water spigot is located at the site on the other side of the driveway.
  • The dumpster is located down by the bathrooms, which is a bit of a walk.

Animal sightings at campsite: Vultures

Warnings:

  • Be careful at this site because there’s a significant drop off around the picnic table.
  • In general, this park is rocky with plenty of places to turn your ankle if you aren’t paying attention.
